Brett & Megan

For those of you who don’t know us . . .

That phrase is used every time one of the youth in our church gets up and speaks to congregation. It’s funny because they use it every time. And everyone does know them. But since some of you don’t know us here’s our deal:

Brett is an educator currently teaching science at Crescenta Valley High School. He is an accepted technophile in his professional community and at home. Megan sometimes thinks of the PC as his other woman. In addition to maintaining bmharvey.com, he also blogs for the California division of the Discovery Educator Network and is really involved in activities with them. Check out the CA DEN blog. When not teaching or blogging, he tries to stay in shape with the Pasadena Triathlon Club and jump into a few races last minute each season.

Brett is the instigator & navigator of the many adventures we take. He also creates many of the ‘lost situations’ that require those navigational skills, like below when we searched for a well-talked-about swimming hole in Belize.

Megan is also a teacher at Fenton Avenue Charter School. As a charter, it is a public school but doesn’t belong to a district. They get their funding directly from the state; one of the perks is that the Governator comes to play kickball with the kids everytime he delivers the staff paychecks. OK that doesn’t really happen, but Megan has ridden in a limo with students twice to eat free Baskin Robbins during the school day. When she’s not soft-serving it in her 40foot pimped-out Hummer, she loves tap dancing, singing, and putting on her own Broadway shows in the bathroom.
